I've been going over it for years again and again and again...the cracks between your elbows, cherry blossom vanilla essence rose...it was the last week in september and i'd been gagging for it since april...never daring to mention for fear of rejection...we'd spent the intervening months swapping mixtapes instead of body fluids...lyric sheets instead of bedsheets...make-up tips instead of fingertips....using the residue of car exhaust pipes as eyeshadow...i sat at the midway point of the quarry, waiting...the place we got wrecked on things you can't buy in shops....it was the same place as the previous night....waiting for something to happen- but it never did.

it was different on saturday, i'd drank just enough cider to walk behind the bush, you took my hand and pulled it towards your body and i didn't even blush. our faces came together and silently they pushed until our tongues moved and touched into the early hours of sunday.
